Today a meeting was held at Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University with a delegation from Northeastern University of China.
The meeting was attended by the university's rector, Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, together with vice-rectors Juramirza Qayumov, Abror Gadaev, Sherzod Uzoqov and Mirolim Shodmonqulov, as well as university professor Emrah Turkyilmaz.

— Prof. Dr. Yang Bo, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Northeastern University;
— Mr Zhou Chengli, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Northeastern University;
— Mr Li Jiannan, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Northeastern University;
— Ms Gao Xiaoxin, specialist in education programmes, Faculty of International Education, Northeastern University.
During SDTU's delegation's visit to China in October 2024, the parties had thoroughly discussed the organisational steps for the joint degree programme planned in cooperation between SDTU and Northeastern University, and had set out concrete steps on the working curricula, qualification requirements, subjects and credit counts for the “Metallurgical Engineering” joint programme.
Today's meeting was the next stage in establishing this cooperation, and it focused on negotiations over organising the joint degree programme.
