About the department

The Education Quality Control Department (Quality Control Coordination Office) was set up under Resolution No. 515 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 18 July 2017 and reorganised by Order No. 72 of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of 27 March 2023. Within the university it reports to the First Vice-Rector for strategic development, and it is accountable to the ministry's Department for Education Quality Assurance.

The department regularly analyses how well the teaching process is organised and the quality of teaching; it studies whether students' knowledge meets the state educational standards and how well they master their subjects; it takes part in selecting and recruiting capable teachers; it ensures transparency and impartiality in assessment; it introduces anti-plagiarism software and reports its analysis of the factors affecting education quality to the rector and the ministry.

Its main aims are to raise the quality of education across the university and its units, to coordinate the work on improving the university's national and international rankings, to ensure that education meets the state educational standards, and to run an internal system for monitoring the teaching process.

Since 2015 the university's teaching has been organised in a credit-module system based on ECTS principles.
