Discounts: education grants

Education grants cover all or part of the tuition fee (Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 149 of 10 March 2025):

  • Full education grant — the cost of tuition is fully covered by the State budget and the standard stipend is paid.
  • Partial education grant — 50 per cent of the tuition fee is covered by the State budget.
  • Additional state grant — awarded for the next academic year to bachelor's students of the set categories whose GPA at the end of the year is 4 or higher.
  • University grant — for bachelor's students of the set categories with a GPA from 3.3 to 4, the university covers 20 to 80 per cent of the next year's fee from its own funds.

The GPA discount scale and the grant distribution documents are on the Education Grants page.

Scholarships and other opportunities

  • Standard stipend — paid to students on a full education grant or an additional state grant; a partial grant carries no stipend.
  • Named state scholarships — the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan's state scholarship and named state scholarships such as those named after Beruni and Islam Karimov are awarded through national competitions. The Registrar's Office provides information on named scholarships and accepts applications for scholarship and grant competitions.
  • Türkiye Scholarships — in February 2025 the university held a round table on the Türkiye Bursları programme: what it offers, how selection works and the benefits for students.
  • Academic mobility — for the 2025–2026 academic year the International Relations Office announced a competition among talented students for a semester at leading universities abroad (open to first- to third-year students with a good command of a foreign language and a high GPA). The semester at the Tajik Technical University named after M. Osimi came with free dormitory accommodation and the return journey paid.
  • The Registrar's Office issues certificates of your stipend; stipends are calculated and paid on time by the accounting office.
