For 8 December — Constitution Day — a study visit was arranged for students of the Faculty of Construction of Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University to the open day at the Samarkand regional criminal court.
During the visit the students saw court proceedings at first hand and learned how they are organised, what the tasks of the judiciary are, and what the rule of law means in practice.
Olim Xayitov, chair of the Samarkand regional court, took part in the event and explained the reforms of the judicial system, the principle of justice, and the work of raising citizens' legal literacy.
