The university's Rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz is currently continuing his working visit to the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Today the Rector was received by Dr. Mh Sabur Khan, founder of Daffodil International University, and signed a cooperation memorandum aimed at launching mutual cooperation and exchange programmes in research, particularly at doctoral level. The memorandum opens up opportunities for future cooperation on launching joint PhD programmes and jointly supervising researchers.
The Rector then visited the main building of Daffodil International University, where a closed-door meeting was held with the university's Rector Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman. At the meeting the two university leaderships discussed at length the projects expected to be carried out in future under the memorandum they had signed.
In the afternoon, Rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz gave a presentation for the doctoral students, faculty and researchers of Daffodil International University on the doctoral system in Uzbekistan and the opportunities created for international students. The presentation covered in detail the system of academic supervision in Uzbekistan's postgraduate education, dissertation defence and certification procedures, the government's policy of supporting science and innovation, the requirements placed on students' research activity, requirements for publishing in prestigious international scientific journals, Uzbekistan's research grant and scholarship programmes, English-language programmes, student housing and information-resource centres for international students, IT laboratories, various research centres, programmes supporting cultural adaptation, and in particular the university's international rankings and achievements, academic exchange programmes (Erasmus+, 2+2 programmes), prospects for cooperation with Daffodil University, benefits for Bangladeshi students wishing to study in Uzbekistan, and opportunities for joint programmes and double-degree education.
