On 18–19 April the ancient and unique Registan Square became the centre of modern architectural science. The international scientific-technical conference held on the theme “Perspectives on world architecture: harmony and proportion in architecture” brought together not only representatives of the academic world but the whole professional community.
This high-level conference was attended by prominent professors, researchers, specialists and practitioners from Uzbekistan as well as Germany, Greece, South Korea, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Egypt, clearly reflecting the conference's international relevance and broad scope.
At the opening ceremony, SDTU's rector, Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, warmly welcomed all participants and stressed that the conference serves as a solid platform for exchanging ideas, gaining mutual experience and identifying new prospects within the global architectural community, and is an important crossroads of harmony, cultural diversity and innovative ideas in modern architecture.
Within the conference, discussion focused on a wide range of topics:

— Urbanistic approaches and modern projects aimed at sustainable development;
— Issues of preserving, reconstructing and renovating historical monuments;
— The scientific and practical significance of world experience in architecture;
— Innovative construction structures and advanced technologies;
— Best practices based on the experience of foreign countries;
— International approaches to training modern, qualified personnel for the field.
