Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University announces a competition, under labour contract, for head-of-department positions at departments whose competition term has ended and which are currently run by an acting head.
Head-of-department positions — Faculty of Architecture: Architecture, Landscape Design, Interior Design, Urban Design and Planning; Faculty of Preservation of Cultural Heritage: Preservation of Cultural Heritage Sites, Reconstruction and Restoration of Architectural Monuments; Faculty of Construction: Construction Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health Engineering; Faculty of Economics and Management: Economy, Real Estate Management, Business Management; Rectorate departments: Art, Social and Natural Sciences, Information Technology, Foreign Languages, Uzbek Language and Literature.
Qualification requirements — holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the relevant speciality; experience teaching at university level; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive academic environment.
Required documents — candidates submit the following to the University's HR department: an application; a personal record sheet (CV); copies of diplomas (bachelor's, master's, PhD), and, for a diploma obtained abroad, a certificate of its recognition and nostrification; a citizen's passport or ID card; documents supporting fulfilment of the relevant requirements shown in the teaching-staff performance evaluation (KPI) table; a certificate supporting proficiency in a foreign language (English preferred); and, where the candidate holds an academic degree, academic title, research work or inventions, the relevant diploma copies, a list of research work and professional-development certificates.
Persons not admitted to the competition — persons under sixteen; persons found, in the established manner, to lack or have limited legal capacity; a candidate who is a close relative or in-law of an employee already working at the University (parents, siblings, children, spouses, and spouses' parents, siblings and children), where the position to be filled would place one of them in direct subordination to, or under the supervision of, the other; a person who submitted forged documents or knowingly false information when applying; persons with an outstanding or unexpunged criminal record; and other cases established by law.
