The China–Central Asia meeting of ministers of education

A ceremonial opening was held for the 1st China–Central Asia Meeting of Ministers of Education in Urumqi, China. The leadership of a number of higher education institutions, including the university's Rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, took part in the events held as part of this high-level meeting.

One of the meeting's key outcomes was the establishment of the China–Central Asia Alliance for Education-Industry Integration. As one of Uzbekistan's higher education institutions to become a member of this alliance, the university's leadership held a meeting with representatives of the Academician M.S. Osimi Tajik Technical University of Tajikistan, the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University of Kazakhstan, Xinjiang Agricultural University of China, and the I. Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University of Kyrgyzstan. It was particularly emphasised at the meeting that establishing cooperative ties across all fields among these prestigious regional institutions would soon bear positive results.

The China–Central Asia Alliance for Education-Industry Integration serves as an important platform for strengthening cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in vocational and engineering education. Its main task is to build a regional community of education-industry integration based on the principles of complementarity and mutual benefit, to create an effective regional development platform that supports open dialogue, and to develop a system of training personnel and helping them find employment based on close cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises. This, in turn, gives new energy and momentum to building a community reflecting shared goals between China and Central Asia and to realising the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
