Mirzo Ulugbek Samarkand State Technical University is taking an active part in the “Turkic World Urban Planning Congress” in Samarkand, planned for 18–22 February 2025.
The event was attended by SDTU's rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, Binali Yıldırım, chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, Sherzod Xidoyatov, Minister of Construction, Adiz Boboyev, acting governor of Samarkand region, and many other specialists.
More than 50 teaching staff and students from SDTU's team took part. Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz chaired one of the congress sessions, while Abror Gadaev, Ahtam Uralov and Bahodir Norqulov delivered academic papers.
The congress covered the following areas:
— Urban planning and architecture — exchanging experience on sustainable development and modern construction technologies.
— Research cooperation — broadly introducing scientific work in engineering and architecture.
— B2B meetings — setting up business cooperation in construction and design.
— Preserving cultural heritage — restoring ancient cities and protecting cultural monuments.
— International education ties — developing education programmes between universities and research centres.
